Commonly known in India as “Ajwain“. Also called Carom or Thyme seeds.


Ajwain or caraway seeds are used for a variety of medicinal purposes. They are known to stimulate the appetite, enhance digestion and are used to treat acidity and heartburn. Ajwain also helps in indigestion and prevents flatulence.

Aditionally, ajwain prevents bad breath and also provides relief from toothache. It is beneficial to sore throat and is also used to treat cold and cough.

Ajwain mixed with jaggery acts as an expectorant. It also helps relieve nasal congestion.

Ajwain also helps in chronic bronchitis and asthma. It is also used as a cure for diarrhoea and dysentery.

Ajwain helps relieve stomach discomfort due to excessive alcohol intake and reduces the craving and desire for alcohol. The aroma of ground ajwain is also very effective against headaches and migraines.
